Misfits starts with allot of cut showing flash backs of previous episodes this show that it is an on going series these cuts are hectic. The opening scene is Curtis ‘the athlete’ waking up with a fright from his alarm clock so the motivated cut is sharp and sudden. After he arrives at his community service he is greeted by his girl friend instead of sex they go in to a back room and masturbate these are motivated cutes and they are quit sharp back and forth between Kelly and Curtis to from this we can connote that they are sharing special moment and this is against the rules because only those two are in the scene. Then we move to a party scene the scene starts with a synchronous cuts because the beat to the song at the party start as soon as we zoom out the extreme close up on his eye. There are allot of motivated cuts moving at a fast pace to show the excitement that occurs at a teen age rave/party. Trying to avoid getting caught by the police Curtis flees there are many cuts during this period to show how franticness of his emotions. He also has the power to turn back time and relive event to change there out come while he does this the flash back of the show is running and the viewer can see this happening is his eye this is very fast pace editing. There is match on action when Curtis’s girl friend stabbed by a drug dealer to instead of a cut to see a better angle of the stabbing we cut to a view where the audience cannot see the stabbing happen so the audience can be as surprised as Curtis we he see the stab wound. We see a shot of the part the shot is slowed done so we can see all the different details of the party at our angle from this we can connote that at a teenage rave/party every thing is moving so fast that anything can be easily missed
In conclusion I think that ‘Misfit’s’ does not use a wide range of different cuts because the editor does not want to damage the verisimilitude in the teen drama. I also think that the editing show that teach individual does not have com

The colour scheme of Misfits is main a grey wash over all the scenes for this we can connote that there lives are very gloomy and like a prison when they are at the community service. Also while they are working at this community service they have they colour code of orange, this is the colour of their overalls they have to where this because they do such jobs as scrubbing dirty graffiti of the walls we can from this conclude the this is not a nice area because their many misfit kids and the is allot of graffiti on the walls. The main character which are the four misfits are all dressed to show support what kind of social back ground they are from. Firstly Curtis the inner city black youth who a runner. His dress code is baggy trousers and tank tops. And his girl friend is a party girl who life revolves around sex alcohol and parties so she wears tight fitting outfits with lots of make up and has allot of sex appeal. The other girl where allot of tracksuits and jeans and caps with lots of chain. Form this we can connote that she is a chive. Simon is a loner and his colour scheme completely supports this, he wears allot of darks colour like black, navy blue and dark grey audience can see why he is a loner. And lastly tony he is Irish he is very annoying to the other characters and his dress sense is very neutral so we can not tell what kid of group he represents.
In conclusion the mise-en-scene show what kind of character so if the audience is similar we can relate and understand what situation and how would deal with it. And the mise-en-scene contributes to the verisimilitude very well because the character and the settings seem like place that we are all aware of.

Camera works in 'Misfits'
Misfits have a very limited number of different types of camera shots but it is yours effectively to show the difference in age between the range of characters, for instance Misfits use a lot of close ups when each of the characters are speaking to one another. We can denote that the older a character is, the more mature they act because during the close ups the social work has a stern tone of voice and a very serious look on his face as he speaks to the young offenders. The young offenders on the other hand the actual youth offenders when they have the close up on them there attitude towards their situation were very bad. They also have an establishing shot of the site that hey are doing their community service on which is a run down graffiti ridden community centre. There are many two shots with one of the young offenders talking to the other from this we can connote that the world that they are trying to portray is dominated by young people because there social worker does not have a two shot with another adult. There is a mid shot when the social worker is running to kill the youth offenders after he has been mutated, from this you denote the typical stereo types of that black men are violent and it only get worst as they grow older.
In conclusion there is a variety of camera shots used in Misfits to connote the different ages represented in the TV drama.

representation of age in the clip of 'Freak', the age grouped being mainly represented is teenagers. and there are different types of teenager qualities that are represented in this clip the first type of teenager quality is that some are moody all the time, they feel lonely they have no one to turn to. another type of teenage group is in the form of the girl's older step brother this type of teen age is more arrogant and rude. he likes to make trouble and laugh and joke and have fun with his Friends.
another type groups represented is adults and the representation of this group is not a very good one. we can see this when the girl is talking to her brother in a different country and they are talking about her their mum trying to run away from a taxi fair. in contrast to the responsible brother who had to pay for her. also the adults are seen in a bad light because while she is the cinema there is a pervert trying to talk to her. also the adults seem to be easier to trick because the boy is able to break in to a pool and have a party with out being punished.

24 hour party people

A 24 hour party person (Michael Winterbottom, 2002) is a film set in Manchester. This film is about the music com unity in the 1970's- 1990's. it is about how this groups the Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop, Happy Mondays were formed and the night club The Hacienda, which was one of the greatest night clubs in the world. All of this was put together by tony Wilson and the record label Factory Records. 24 hour party people had many production companies founding it these are Baby Cow Production, Channel Four Films, Film Council, Film Four, Revolution Films, and Wave Pictures. from this we can know that this is an independent film because the money being put in to the film are coming form different directions so the risks of the film flopping and bankrupting a company is very small. Where as in Hollywood film they would only have a smaller number of production companies as the production companies are willing to give more money to a Hollywood film that have a mainstream audience so they have a better chance of their film making more money.
The film breaks the fourth wall many times, for example at the beginning after he crashes in to the ground tony Wilson saying the scene was symbolic of what is to come on many levels 'I don't want to say too much, don't want to spoil it'. He does this again later on in the film when the real Devoto says "I definitely don't remember this happening." the target audience for 24 hour party people mature people but this film has lots of very funny parts in it. This film mostly is aimed at a male audience as most of the main actors are male. The audience will be between 16 and 35 because there are many scenes in this film with young people drinking and smoking and taking drugs. They would also be of a working class background. The biggest use of synergy is the music in the opening credits of 24 hour party people. The film starts with a song by the “Happy Mondays” in the opening credits. Tony Wilson is at a concert in Manchester 1976, the Sex Pistols are performing.
Most independent films do not have special effects so it is seen as rare and it breaks the verisimilitude when to have special effects 24 hour party people does have special effects, this is when tony meets god an god speaks how he can deal with his problems. in the clip of skins i was looking at how age is represented in the different characters. with a range from teen age rs to middle age people. the representation i think of the teen age rs is that they run the house and their own live and they get to do what they want, and as long as they find a crafty way of getting out of it. and the representation of the adults are either loud all the time, and they are always swearing the are not good role models for the kids and the can be out smarted by their kids, this is shown through the kids farther. or the parent does not speak often gets on with every one looks after Evey one the is represented thought the mother.
the first sound we hear is the clip is the bells these are not tradition church bell but they are faster than normal church bell to represent that the character is a teen ager. the sound we hear next is the alarm this is diagetic sound which mean the character can hear it. this is to connote that it is time for the teenager to wake up, as he wakes up this show that he is not the stereo typical teen age er that likes to have a lie in. as he turns off the alarm the music turns on this is a non diasgetic sound as the character can not hear this, but shown to seem that he is hearing it. This music is synchronous sound as the pace of the characters activities is in time with the music, this can make the audience obsorbed in to what they are watching and it also emphasizes the images being viewed. because the teen ager is working out to this music this represents that teen agers care about how they look physically. then we hear the alarm on his watch goes off again this is to let him know that it is time to peep at one of his neighbours through the window. because his watch is synchronised to the exact time when he she comes to the window this shows that him and his neighbour have and agreement, and they with want him to stare at her naked body. this shows that she knows that he is watching her and she clearly enjoys it, this represent that she is a middle aged woman who like that atention of young men.

the we hear the clicks of his sister shoes on the street and this represents that she likes to party all night and she quit rebellious, because she is walking on the street when the rest of he family are just waking up. Tony's sister signal to him then he turns on his music all the way to the maximum volume to distact his dad, the music is a diagetic sound, it is very fast and upbeat, it falls into the "Rock" genre of music, through the type of music he listens to, it represents that he is a teenager. the music then moves from diagetic to nondiagetic because the shot swithces to Tony's sister because she can not hear the nusic.
the dad screaming is the first bit of duologue we hear in the clip most of his diologe is swearing and being rude to his son.'every fucking morning.' thought the language he uses we can see that he does not represent the typical father figure. the mode of address he uses is very informal this add to the sence that he is not a typicl father. the mode of address of tony is much more calm than his dad. which is shown throught his diologe
the mother he very little diologue yet she represents the motherly caring figure well because she is in the kitchen cooking and she asks him 'what do you want for breakfast love.'
in conclusions representations through sound of the characters are very bias, because they make the adults looks like kids walk all over them .

New media technology is the word used to describe the emergence of digital, computerised o networked information. new media technology is quicker smaller more efficient and compressed forms of data when compared to the older analogue equipment.
non linear this allows an editor to edit the film at any stage on a computer. un like 30 year ago with linear editing thsis was very in convenient because the editor had to literally cut and past each scene in the right place.In non-linear editing,the film is mot lost or modified during editing. Professional editing software records the decisions of the editor in an edit decision list (EDL) which can be interchanged with other editing tools. many different variations of the film can existed with the need of more than one copy ths allows the editing of a film to bery flexible.this also allow the editor to change cuts and descions that they want to change that were on the (EDL). the film that hase been editied will not loss any quality because its does not have to keep being encoded. The costs of editing systems have proliferated such that non-linear editing tools can be used people in thir homes. Some editing software can now be accessed free as web applications; some, like Cinelerra and Blender3D, like Microsoft's Windows Movie Maker or Apple Computer's iMovie.(wh we used at chadwell heath).
editing before digital technology in the 1970's CMX 600 was introduced this made editing so much easier because the allowed the editor can use a light pen to put any scene anywhere he wants it with out the long process that it was before.It was introduced in 1971 by CMX Systems this is reffered to as the (RAVE)Random Access Video Editor. The 600 had 2 black & white monitors built in, with a light pen used to control the system. The right monitor, played the preview video this was used by the editor to make cuts and edit decisions, by using the light pen. The left monitor was used to display the edited video.


due to today's new media technology this mean any one can produce media. this helps the audience by enabling the to indulge all types of media because the editing of the films are easier to do and it is not a long inconvenient process. also with today simplistic method of making film this allows any one with ab it of drive to make a film where as 30 years ago only really qualified editors were involved in film making.
technology converge is when two functions are joined together which makes a process in film making much easier. digital light and special effects can be used before the footage is filmed. this mean that after a film is made it does not need altering.
in conclusion has made a drastic leap and has impacted on the production of films in a major way i think that the modernisation of editing has opened doors for more people to achieve what was probably once seen as unachievable. on the other hand it takes the professionalism away from that certain job so the job is not fully appreciated any more.

Early channel four and independent film have some differences and some similarities for instance in channel four's Remit which is what they are trying to achieve it states that they try to appeal to the taste and appeal and interests of a diverse society, and both early channel four and independent films do this. most independent film are have a documentary feel to it and channel four show documentary and both giver and incite in to real peoples lives and show location that normal people can relate to. also the camera works in both channel four and independent films are not advanced which makes it hard to watch, they do not stick to the camera rules. channel four and independent film both have a niche audience because they both tackle controversial issues.
channel four help the innovation of British television by first taking risks by tackling controversial issues for instance in the beautiful launderette, they tackle inter racial relationships and homosexuality.by doing this channel four set the tone for others to produce more difficult themed programmes. so channel four has help the innovation by leading the way to originality in brutish films.
channel four is now attracting a much wider rang of audience by the way it has strayed from the ethos of its original remit as a public service channel to include programmes of an educational nature and other of educative value. by broad American show such as scrub and friends between 1993 to 1999. these programmes are solely shown for entertainment and have no educational value at all. also in 200 channel four launched a show called big brother have over 10 million viewers this is the most watched show on channel four. programmes like this also so have no educational values and is repeated series after series just to gain rating for channel four. when channel four first started it had individuality from all the channel but now just to gain ratings it has conformed to what all the other channels do.
i feel that the factual programmes on channel four do not have No where near the same value as 25 years ago because it does not deal with issues like it did back then now it deals with issues like life is one big freak show. The channel is not looking in to way some one is like this they just focus on that fact that the person with the abnormality as a freak and they can gain rating by showing them. 25 years ago these abnormalities were handled in a serious way and looked in to with great detail and the programmes help educate people more 25 years ago.
channel four still in some ways still maintains its original remit by, still showing educational programmes and still tackling some controversial topics. and still does appeal to the taste of a diverse society.

I work for 'Hollywood Flix' this is a major film company that caters to a wide range of audiences by targeting all age groups. i was given a budget of 30million to create a film. T his film is an action adventure film. The scenario of my film is, a British science technician who has a super alter ego.

The synopsis of this film is, in a laboratory two British science technicians who are brothers are working on a cure for cancer, something goes terribly wrong and there is an explosion. The two technician both have a diabolical reaction to the chemicals that they were using to cure this horrible disease. One of the brothers plan to use their new found powers for evil and world domination.the younger brother who is more morally sound decides against this decision. the bad brother kidnaps the good brothers wife who he loves very much and tries to make the good brother choose between saving the world and saving his wife. The two brother have a show down at the site where he is holding the good brothers wife. After a long battle good triumphs over evil and the world is saved. the bad brothers is killed, OR IS HE??

Due to the films large budget i can afford to have lots of different settings in the world, to show that there are no limits to these two super beings.
one location is Central London's tower bride this is where the two bothers have their final show down. this is also the place where the good brother's wife ins being held against her will this will be the climax of the film to film in this location it will cost 1million dollars

Another location in the film will be laboratory this set will have to be created this lab will have a range of chemicals and it and is also the site where the explosion happens. this location will cost 1 hundred thousand dollars.

a small fight scene this is when then bad brother try to knock down the Eiffel tower. He is stopped by the good brother but he flees. This is to shot that the powers have no limits and they can go anywhere they want in the world with ease. To film here it will cost 1 hundred thousand dollars

I have casted Vinnie Jones as the hench man of the bad big brother, his name will be Steve Jackson. he will cost 2million dollars.

the music i have chosen is the music the i will set the mood of an action adventure film. I have chosen an original orchestra to play atmospheric songs thought out the film, this will cost 5 hundred thousand dollars. I have chosen and international group to record a song to play during our fight scene which will be the climax of the film this group will be Evanescence and the song that they will record is wake me up inside. I have chosen that same group to record an original sound to play during the end credits this will be the films sound track.

The target audience of my film is wider range it ranges from teen age rs to middle age people who like an exciting thrill ride of a film. it is mainly aged at the male gender because this film has allot of action and adventure. This film is not really aimed at a certain ethnicity but it is not really aimed at people who live rural life styles.

The film that i am creating represents Britishness very well because it show that exciting things happened in Britain as well as America, it also shows that we Britain is able to have super heroes and villains as well.

synergy is very important because the more you synergy in your movie the more you get paid by for it, from the different companies. I have chosen to use synergy and with a McDonalds because my film is a family movie which mean this is a great palace to promote a company like McDonalds because my target audience and the target audience of McDonalds will be very similar. This will occur with product placement, i will have the two super hero’s fighting and this will happen near a McDonalds. I will also put one of my characters in a commercial in order to help the movies publicity. I will also use product placement with and Apple Mac computer this will be in the laboratory where the two scientists are working on the cure for cancer. The other type of synergy i will use is that I will go to the biggest pop record label and get an upcoming artist to sing the sound track for my movie this is called ..... this will benefit my both sides of this agreement because this will get the upcoming artist publicity and my movie will get it also. In the movie i will use more product placement by having a Samsung HD television at the dad house and i will have in the movie him talking about how he cannot use it. The raisers they and link their super powers to the raiser they use. Which each bit of synergy it earns my fill £500, 000 and there are 6 pieces of synergy this will make my film an extra £3 million towards my budget and i have also been given a bonus of £15 million. So my overall budget is now 31.7 million pounds.

To make my film i will need the best film crew to make this film be the best that it can be. Firstly i will need a director i have chosen this director because he has good credentials he was the director of the movie Spiderman. the director will cost me £7.5 million it is good to have a director like this because when they find out that it was the director who did Spiderman more people would want to see my film and he will have allot of experience with these type f film. However the bad thing is about having a director of his calibre is that he may not be open to try new ideas and the ideas that he could come up with maybe abet to cliché and predictable. I will need the biggest and best production team which will cost me £2.5 million. The good reason for having a production crew this good is they are very experienced at what they do and they are the best so they will make my film good. The bad thing about the production team this big will cost allot of money to transport around to different places because this film has allot of national and international settings. The best Editor that i can get will cost me £2 million this will benefit the movie by making it run smoothly and making all the cut and any other things we need to add to the movie seem natural. Because the editor is experienced, however their work may be too high tech and he may have the whole movie on a computer this creates a problem because any computer no matter how good it is can cash, get Brocken, stolen or lost and if any of these things happen my movie is lost. Special effects are very important so i am getting the best special effects that i can which will cost £2 million the good thing about spending so much money to get the best is that with the best special effect anything i want can happen in the movie i can create anything using CGI. However of all this CGI it may hurt the verisimilitude of the film. The whole movie crew will cost me £13.5 million.

The technology i will use film ‘Brotherly Love’ the cameras i will DVW900 camera this is the best type of cameras you can get. it will cost £13,794.25 and we will be gettin of 6 of these. and the tapes cost £10.20 and we will be getting 20 of these. i will be using macs to put together the film and the soft where i will use is i moves these will cost £1349 and i will get 3 of them. the lasst thing that i will add to my film is special effects this will cost

This is a very dis functional family because of the views of there traditional Muslim father George and there white mother all George's seven kids are influenced by their surroundings so instead of being a traditional Muslim girl his daughter Meenah would rather play football in the street with the neighbour hood boys. Also his sons do not want to marry the wives that George has arranged for them, they would rather be with the local girls that are not Muslim this upsets George.
